What is dry ice blasting?

A non-abrasive way to lift contaminants without water, chemicals or secondary waste.

From the Polar Ice Restoration team
01

Cold, dry and gentle on the surface.

Dry ice cleaning accelerates solid carbon dioxide pellets against a surface. The pellets are cold enough to loosen contaminants, then turn back into gas on impact.

Because the process is non-abrasive, the surface underneath is not worn away the way it can be with sand, grit or harsh scrubbing.

02

Nothing left behind to clean up.

The pellets disappear as they hit, so there is no blasting media to sweep up and no wastewater to collect. What remains is the contaminant that was removed.

That means less cleanup, less downtime and a faster return to production.

03

Safe around electrical systems.

Dry ice is non-conductive and the process is dry, which makes it suitable for cleaning around electrical components and equipment that cannot be soaked.

Our team plans each job around your equipment, your schedule and your safety requirements.
